I’m Vonda, founder and CEO of Flower Clique.

After 45 years in the floral industry, there’s one thing that has remained consistent: good help is hard to find.

FlowerPrepSchool was created out of necessity, and through the encouragement of our members and talented industry friends.

We’ve designed a course to get all of your new and existing employees up to speed on the essentials - from washing buckets to greening containers; from copying a picture and recipe to arranging a dozen roses in a vase. Plus so much more.

I’m Lori, and I’m gonna be completely honest: training employees can be exhausting.

Since I entered this industry over ten years ago, I’ve come to realize that business owners in this profession have way too much on their plate to do it all on their own.

My biggest passion is connection. We all crave it, we all need it. But not all of us are natural-born communicators. And great communication is the key to great sales.

As a teacher in my previous career, I believe that your employees can be taught - with the right tools and the proper guidance - in just weeks, not months.

This course is something I wish I was able to give shop owners 10 years ago. Better late than never, right? I’m excited to see you and your team in the course!

Meet your mentor

I’m EllieJo, a born and raised flower child.

Growing up in a flower shop gave me a lifelong love for this industry.

From washing buckets and answering the phone to designing sympathy pieces and large-scale weddings, my creative progression and love for flowers have blossomed into my role as Creative Director for Flower Clique. The synthesis of my knowledge of the floral industry, a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Interior Design, and my graphic design and technical experience were all integral in shaping the new perspective that I bring to this educational training system.

My passion for educating the modern-day consumer on the value of the floral professional is a constant mission I’m working toward - and it starts first with the local florist!

PrepSchool is for anyone interested in learning more about the essential education necessary to thrive in a retail flower shop. If you are a flower shop owner, and don't have the time or energy to mentor a new employee (or take an existing employee to the next level) this is your answer! PrepSchool is founded by flower shop owners who have mentored their own staff into valuable assets of the team. With the right training and practice, true potential is reached; talented designers and sales experts blossom. We want to share our expertise so that this industry keeps thriving!

Do I have to purchase a separate course for each employee?

No!

One license gives you access to the full suite of educational tools, for as many employees that you wish to train, forever. We can also create separate profiles for each team member so that individual progress is measured.

How long do I have access to the courses?

Once enrolled, you'll have lifetime access to all course content, the community, and all future updates to the courses.

Do you offer refunds?

Because of the nature of digital products and receiving the content, all sales are final and non-refundable. If you have any questions about if Prep School is right for you, feel free to email lori@flowerclique.com before purchasing.

What kind of mentorship or support is offered for Prep School?

Upon enrollment, you’ll receive an invitation for orientation with Lori. She will guide you through course implementation, best practices, and a roadmap for success.

In addition, you’re invited to attend our Mentor Office Hours held frequently. These Zoom meetings are a place where we'll answer your questions, troubleshoot roadblocks, and offer feedback on your progress. If you need even more in-depth design mentorship with Vonda, you may purchase virtual sessions for an additional fee.

We also have a private group for all of our students - to share ideas, progress, and get advice from us and the community!

How long does the training take?

The courses are broken up into modules, so it’s very easy to complete one module + practice in under an hour. Following along with the workbook makes it very user-friendly.

The courses work best if your employees watch a few videos or one module, while taking notes, and then take that information and put it into practice during the workday. If you pack too much learning into one day, it’s easy for a student to get overwhelmed and likely forget much of it. We recommend going slow and steady to really get the most out of the lessons.

The videos are packed full of information, yet we stayed true to our word of keeping them short! If I had to give you a short answer: A new employee should be able to complete the training within a few weeks, watching then implementing.

How do I know if my employees have completed the course?

Monitoring your employee’s progress is easy: simply email Lori with their name and she will send you their progress report. Once your employee has completed the program, you can customize and print a PrepSchool Certificate of Completion to present to them.

You can either pay in full and save a little or split the tuition into monthly payments.
